Air Rifles
Minimum Age: 8
Maximum Group Size: 12
Instructor Required: Yes. Groups can self instruct. The minimum instructor requirement is NSRA YPS Instructor.
Each young person taking part in air rifle shooting must complete a ‘permission to shoot form’. These are available from The Scouts website.
Archery
Minimum Age: 6
Maximum Group Size: 12
Instructor Required: Yes. Groups can self instruct. The minimum instructor requirement is Archery GB Instructor. Members of Scouting can instruct youth members if they hold a suitable Scout Permit.
Canoeing
Minimum Age: 8
Maximum Group Size: 12
Instructor Required: Yes. Groups can self instruct. The minimum instructor requirement is BCU Coach Award. Members of Scouting can instruct youth members if they hold a suitable Scout Permit. The Delph is Class B1 waters.
Gladiator Challenge

High All Aboard
Minimum Age: 14

Low Ropes
Minimum Age: 6
Maximum Group Size: 12
Instructor Required: No. Group leaders can self-lead this activity following a short briefing.

Monkey Trees
Minimum Age: 8

Orienteering
Minimum Age: 6
Maximum Group Size: 50. Young people should follow the course in groups of at least four. Older youths and adults can be in smaller numbers. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult.

Pond Dipping

Rafting

Instructor Required: Yes. Groups are welcome to self instruct but must provide their own buoyancy aids and helmets and hold a BCU Coach Award or higher plus additional training or a Scout permit.
Tomahawks
Minimum Age: 6
Maximum Group Size: 12
Instructor Required: Yes. Groups wishing to self-instruct must show evidence of competence in this activity. At Tawd Vale we only accept a certificate of attendance of an axe throwing course as such evidence.
